WBS United:

Siju and Friends:

WBS United (WBSU/United) and Siju and Friends (SAF) offered interested parties an entertaining match of wit, determination, and wardrobe malfunctions. The 1-1 tie included tense moments, shirt swapping at halftime, and an impressive display of skill by players on both teams.  

WBSU lined up in their familiar 3-3-1, dispensed with the tentative assessing of the opponent, and immediately took the game to SAF. Starting from deep within their half, choosing the most direct route almost proved successful as WBSU created opportunities from the onset. SAF, however, was up to the task and calmly parried the early onslaught and began to establish themselves. SAF relied on the surefooted interplay between goalkeeper and defenders to get themselves out of trouble and launch quick counterattacks along their right flank. SAF midfield’s varied point of attack alternated between areal crosses, incisive ground passing, and the occasional long-range shot. To their credit, WBSU’s defense remained up to the task, foiling attacks through anticipation, hard running, and luck. This luck ran out early in the second half when SAF scored a goal that some may say was deserved but against the run of play. WBSU responded with increased intensity and equalized through some eye-pleasing team play that unlocked SAF’s defense and resulted in the equalizer.  Both teams played with the belief that victory was within their grasp, resulting in a fiery finish that saw several narrow misses on both sides. However, the game ended tied at 1-1.

Am 02.06. wurde die Party zwischen WBS United und SiJu and Friends wiederholt, welches einige Wochen zuvor aufgrund eines Gewitters abgebrochen werden musste. SiJu war aufgrund von Krankheit und Verletzungen etwas geschwächt ins Spiel gegangen, konnte sich im Laufe der ersten Hälfte aber trotzdem einige gute Chancen erarbeiten, die aber leider ungenutzt blieben. Allerdings konnte auch WBS mit einigen guten Aktionen immer wieder zur SiJu Abwehrreihe und zu Torhüter Clemens vordringen. Doch diese Chancen wurden auch schnell von den Abwehrspielern abgefangen oder konnten von Clemens entschärft werden.
